Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Club of Greater Tampa Bay

Celebration of Life

In loving memory of our Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers that have passed.

Henry Clay
(2022-2025)

It is with a broken heart that we tell you that our dear Henry has passed. He was the best dog we ever had and forever will be missed. We only had him a short 3 years and 3 days. The heart murmur he had when we got him turned to congestive heart failure in December of last year. With lots of love and heart medications we enjoyed him for about another 7 months. I am so grateful to you for bringing him to us.
Loved and Owned by Debbie and David Clay

Morgayne Shore
(12/8/10 - 4/12/25)

She came to us with only the month of her birth. I decided to give her the 18th or C'hai which means life in Hebrew. She will be deeply missed.
Loved by Lisa Jaye and Greg Shore

Guinness Nicholson
(2/22/09 - 5/2/25)

A very wonderful sixteen years, two months. Guinness was wonderfully smart, easy to train and had the very best manners. He was a truly remarkable companion and family member. To say he will be missed is not adequate. He was truly loved by so many family and friends.
Merle Nicholson

Kyle Fenning
(April 23, 2025)

It is with deep sorrow that I must report that my sweet girl, Kylie, peacefully crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on April 23. My heart is broken.
Marcia Fenning

Seamus Shore
(12/25/09 - 7/26/24)

Seamus was the bestest boy. Happy go lucky. He survived two separate TPLO surgeries and 3 Mast Cell surgeries. He also had a liver issue. Towards the last 2 years of his life, he developed Cushings. But nothing phased him. He will be dearly missed!

Oonagh
2024

She was the most devoted and loyal dog I have ever encountered. Exceptionally smart, communicative and intuitive (although the doorbell sound effect on a TV show did confuse her sometimes). She was my constant companion for all of those years with us, spending most of her time staring at me and supervising my every move. And it seems strange not sensing her brown eyes focused on me. She was loved by many of our neighbors who would bestow treats upon her while we walked. She will be missed.

Annie Rudy
(11/28/13 - 6/24/24)

On May 22, 2024 Annie was diagnosed with a large tumor attached to her liver. A biopsy confirmed it was malignant and the size of it made it inoperable. Today, 33 days later, Lap of Love came to the house and gently, with compassion took away her pain while I held her in my arms. She was a special little girl with a giant personality whom we were fortunate enough to have adopted when she was 1 1/2 years old. Annie flew to the rainbow bridge at age 10 1/2. 9 years with us was not enough. Piper and I will miss her terribly. Hug your fur babies with all the love you have.

Tucker Benton
(2/1/2012 - 7/2/24)

On July 2, Tucker crossed the rainbow bridge. He was the sweetest boy and brought laughter and joy to use every day of his 7 years he was with us and for the 5 years he was with his previous family. He was well loved. We miss him and his high jinks every day!

Stitch Jones
(2012 - 8/15/24)

Our fur baby Stitch passed over the Rainbow Bridge yesterday. He was my heart dog and I am truly devastated! His sister Lily was quite beside herself last night. Pacing till she exhausted herself. It is way too quiet in our home now! Stitch came from this rescue remarkable group. Thank you for allowing us to be able to love him for 12 years!

Quinn Albano-Beracha

We said goodbye to our wonderful Quinn, whom we adopted from you just over 3 years ago. Although we had such a short time with him, he brought so much joy to our home. Our hearts are broken and we will miss him greatly. Loved and owned by Steve Albano & Marc Breach

Sunnee MacGyvor
(12/26/07 - 10/01/23)

On October 1, Sunnee MacGyvor went to be with his friends in doggie heaven. Fifteen years, 9 months. He was a great friend. On October 6 Barley came to live with us, he’s been a perfect addition. He was 6 years old October 29. We love him!

Scout Jacuk
November 30, 2023

On November 30th of 2023 Scout Jacuk (CGC) crossed over the Rainbow Bridge to be with his little sister Crosley. He went peacefully in his own bed and in his own house. Scout gave us nothing but joy and pleasure for 15+ years. We were so fortunate to have him in our lives for so long. Still, never long enough. He was an old & gentle soul. Anyone who ever met him will attest to that. He led a full life but made ours even fuller and our hearts a little bigger. Scout loved his cars rides, boat rides, and swimming in the pool. Mr. Scouty Pants was one of a kind. We are blessed to have had such an amazing family member touch our souls.
Loved and owned by Cindy & Scott Jacuk

Aoife
(1/30/14 - 5/29/23)

(GCH CH Wheatens Pride Buxx Bogart x GCH CH Inishkeen’s Pillow Full O’Petals CGC) left us way too soon following the removal of an adrenal tumor. Your daughter Irene and I miss you every day sweet Aoife.

Crosley Jacuk
June 6, 2023

On June 6th we had the great misfortune of losing our sweet Crosley. It was very sudden and unexpected. She had just turned 11. We couldn’t have asked for more than she gave us in those 11 years. She was a terrier through and through. Loyal, tenacious, stubborn, and had a heart of gold. Nobody wanted to catch that squirrel more than she did. We can only hope she finally accomplishes that at the Rainbow Bridge. She is greatly missed each and every day but will live in our hearts forever.
Loved by Cindy & Scott Jacuk

Arthur Kafka-Smith
2023

Arthur was 15 years 2 months when he passed. He had earned his obedience and advanced obedience certifications. He also earned his CGC & CGCA certification and was a Therapy Dog for TDI. He especially loved working with children. He was an old soul from day one. So calm and easy to train, he was SO smart! He lived with multiple dogs in our home and many foster dogs over the years. He loved chasing deer, rabbit and armadillo. He was one in a million and will forever be missed.

Breezy Scurr
(11/5/09 - 9/20/22)

Breezy never met anyone he didn’t like and everybody loved him. He was quite the character and quite the poser. He loved his sister Darcy and learned to love his little brother Gunny. Breezy loved his therapy dog work. His favorite place to go was the local college campus during finals week. He helped the students relax and get ready for more exams! He adopted me when he was 14 months old. And of course, I was just ‘fostering’ him. He was the best foster failure anyone could want. Miss him to pieces

Declan Dobson
(2/20/18 – 11/15/22)

Spunky Mr. Declan died of lymphoma at just four and a half years old. But oh, what an Olympian-sized life he lived during his short time. Declan began as the family dog of breeders Dennis and Bonnie Wirth. He eventually joined the Bill and Jan Dobson family where he settled in, stole hearts, and stole many slippers too. 🙂 Declan was a beautiful animal and loyal friend. He lived large, running in the fields and patrolling fence lines right up to the day before he passed. His families and his friends miss him dearly.
Bred by Dennis and Bonnie Wirth, Owned by Bill and Jan Dobson

Bentley Elliot
June 7, 2022

GCHS, CDN CH, Sho-well’s Bree’s Boy Toy, CGC “Bentley”, left this world quietly overnight on June 7. GCHS, CDN CH, Sho-well’s Bree’s Boy Toy, CGC “Bentley”, left this world quietly overnight on June 7th, 2022. Bentley would have been 15 years old on July 1st. It is important for many to know that although Bentley carried both markers for PLN he lived a healthy life to 3 weeks short of turning 15 years old. RIP, handsome boy, your legacy lives on both in and out of the conformation ring!

Mulligan
2022

We got 14 yo Mulligan from the SCWTC rescue two years ago. Mully passed away yesterday morning three weeks shy of 16. He was a blessing. I want to thank Melissa and Jody for the work they did saving him and getting him to us all the way from Jacksonville. They allowed Mully to have two more great years with people who loved him, instead of being put down after his owner passed away. They are amazing and deserve to be applauded every day. Thank you all for allowing us the privilege of loving Mully in his senior years.

Sachet
(4/11/09-10/13/21)

CH Robins Crest Lil Cloud Nine CGC x GCH CH Inishkeen’s Maille of VanBeard CGC. Owned and Bred by Jim and Ann McCormick. We said goodbye to our beautiful Sachet shortly before 11 am on that morning in October as William Shatner was rocketing into space. Sachet probably crossed paths with Capt. Kirk and the new starship on her way to the Rainbow Bridge to find her parents, McDuffie and Maille. We celebrated her 12.5 year birthday two days before. Her quality of life was very good until this summer, chemo and radiation therapies controlled the cancer for two years; when she could no longer tolerate the treatments the tumor began to grow toward her healthy kidneys and metastasized to a lymph node, causing urinary tract and lymphatic obstructions. We chose the 8th anniversary of her dad’s death to say goodbye while she could still walk and play with us on a leg with rapidly worsening lymphedema. Sweet Sachet, you enriched our lives tremendously. We love you!

Kasper Wilkinson
September 2020

Kasper – August 2020. Watching the chipmunks from his chaise lounge! Our beautiful and beloved Kasper died September 2020 at age 15 years. We adopted him from SCWTCGTB at age 4. Kasper travelled with us between our ‘snowbird’ home in Florida and our place in Ontario, Canada. We live in the country in Canada so Kasper had the freedom of a leash-free life here, which he loved. All the neighbours welcomed his visits. We shared 11 great years with our loving and gentle companion and we miss him terribly. Thanks to Melissa and everyone involved in our rescue for everything you do to find homes for these wonderful dogs.

Sophie Knapp
7/9/2020

Over the Rainbow Bridge - 7/9/2020. 15 yo.

Darby Blackledge

In 2010 my husband went to look at a sailboat for sale. The owners had a wheaten Darby who Robert fell in love with on sight. He didn't buy the boat, but later the owner called him to see if he wanted it at a reduced price and also told him they were selling Darby on Craig's list since she kept breaking their electric fence. I was at a dog show with my 2 male wheatens that day. Apparently Darby climbed in the backseat of Robert's truck and never looked back. I find myself still looking for her in her usual places..our bed, her closet, looking out the window when we come home. We take comfort knowing she is now over the rainbow bridge with Riley and Ted giving them heck. Run free pretty girl. Run free.

Mick - Sir Isaac McCain Cox
(11/18/04- 6/9/20)

Mick was certified as a pet therapist by Project Pup and volunteered with Hospice. I also took him to work with me to Paul B Stephens Exceptional Student Center, a school for students with special needs. He was the school mascot. He loved going to school. He wore a dog shirt everyday and most days our colors matched. His favorite room was the kitchen and Julie always had a snack for him. The staff and the students loved having him in the school .Walking down the halls all I heard was “Hi Mick”, so much I had it put on my car tag. Some families even got pets after seeing how their kids did so well with him. He really had a positive impact on so many people. He was such a mommas boy. He had to know where I was at all times, and I loved him deeply too. He enjoyed his daily walks and so did we. Mick was a special dog that we will keep in our hearts and love forever.

Guinness Baldwin
May 31, 2020

It is with great sorrow that we announce our faithful and beloved Wheaten, Guinness Baldwin crossed over the rainbow bridge tonight May 31, 2020. When we first met Guinness at the shelter in 2015, he was a mess. The previous owner completely ignored any type of care for Guinness. But thanks to Kathi Elliot, President, SCWTCGTB and its’ Rescue Group and particularly to Marilyn Stowell, who nursed him back to health, he become our beloved pet on September 8, 2015. Guinness Baldwin will be forever loved, deeply missed and always in our hearts.

Maille
(1/12/04 - 12/13/19)

GCH CH Inishkeen Maille Of VanBeard CGC (CH VanBeard’s Sir Chancellor x VanBeard’s Sunsprite) Bred by Kathleen Ostrander Bowers. From March 2004 when we brought Chancey and Daisy’s 8 week old puppy home to join McDuffie in our family, at Paradise Island on Lake Wisconsin, this little Wheaten ruled the roost. Her name, Inishkeen, meaning beautiful island became our kennel name. Maille led a busy life, moving to our retirement home in Florida, becoming an AKC Champion and Grand Champion, raising 13 puppies of her own and supervising the raising of her grand puppies and great grands. Her favorite perch on the back cushion of the couch allowed her to watch out the front and back windows at the same time, to sound the alert for all the interesting events in the neighborhood. At age 12 she still had a lively step around the veterans ring, earning BV/VG2 a few times.
